What is your ministry background?
I never really intended to go into ministry, but God obviously had other plans. After college my brother, who was a youth pastor at the time, recruited/strongly encouraged/threatened me into being a high school small group leader for him. While doing that I somehow got roped into serving in children’s ministry. I loved it and had some really amazing leaders help develop my leadership skills. Soon I was leading volunteers as a volunteer, soon after that I was on staff part-time, which eventually led to full-time/all the time helping lead the children’s ministry. In 2010 I became an Orange Specialist at Orange. Since then I’ve also served as a Bible storyteller in the elementary large group environment of my church. I can’t imagine not serving and am thankful for all that God has let me be a part of.
What is your favorite part of being an Orange Specialist?
I love helping leaders discover the why behind the what from the big things to the small things. Ministry is hard and if you don’t have a compelling why, you’ll get eaten alive!

Do you have any skills that most people don’t know about?
I can make a three leaf clover with my tongue as well as touch the tip of my tongue to the tip of my nose. Those are skills right??
If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be?
Walt Disney World with my kids or on the beach by myself…(yes, I realize those are polar opposites!)

My life wasn’t about me.

What do you do with friends in your spare time?
I have three kids. I don’t know of this “spare time” of which you speak.
What would be your personal motto?
Have courage and be kind.
If you had $100 and the day to yourself, what would you do?
Probably wander around Hobby Lobby or Target with a venti iced Chai latte in hand.
